This role will be part of a new dynamic consortium of research staff across the Faculty of Technology working on the -£20M Sustainable Energy and Air Quality Improvement for Coastal Harbours to Achieve Net-zero with Grid Enhancements (SEA CHANGE) project. This project will work closely with several external partners and investigate the installation of large vessel grid connections.
As a member of SEA CHANGE you will manage a research project and related activities on your own or on behalf of the research leader. This will primarily involve analysing the operation of energy systems within a microgrid, modelling and simulation of energy systems (including micro-grids) as well as modelling and life cycle analysis to determine the impacts and effectiveness of the project.
Other aspects of the role will include engaging with project partners. Liaising and networking with funding bodies and other relevant professionals, developing, analysing, interpreting research data. Writing papers for research journals and material for publications contributing to the growing research culture in the Technology Faculty.
This appointment is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2025.
