Areas of Responsibility: All academic standards and quality aspects of the college

Contract: Permanent Contract (full-time 40hrs per week)

We are currently seeking to appoint a Quality Manager on a Full-time, permanent basis.

This post focuses on ensuring compliance with relevant awarding bodies and OFSTED standards, regulations and overall compliance and it is crucial in maintaining and enhancing the overall quality of education and support services provided by the college.

The post holder will be working closely with the head of academic standards and quality, college directors and senior managers to complete the range of tasks consistent with the role of this job description.

It is also expected that the appointee will lead the effective implementation of the College’s drive to provide outstanding success for its learners, employers and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

OFSTED Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of OFSTED requirements, guidelines, and updates.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess and improve compliance with OFSTED standards.
  • Collaborate with department heads and faculty to implement necessary changes to meet OFSTED expectations.
  • To be the quality nominee for OFSTED.

Awarding Body Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of awarding body requirements, guidelines, and updates.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess and improve compliance with awarding body standards.
  • Collaborate with department heads and faculty to implement necessary changes to meet awarding body expectations.
  • To be the quality nominee for specified awarding bodies.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain accurate records and documentation related to OFSTED compliance and awarding body regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting areas of strength and improvement.
  • Ensure that all required documentation is readily available and accessible for both the awarding body(ies) and OFSTED reviews and inspections.

Quality Assurance Processes:

  • Establish and oversee robust quality assurance processes across all college departments and campuses.
  • Conduct regular reviews of teaching, learning, and assessment practices to ensure they align with regulatory criteria.
  • Work closely with academic staff to implement improvements based on feedback and observations.
  • Provide focused support for curriculum areas which have been identified through the quality assurance process as requiring direct intervention.
  • Ensure the College’s assessment and approval procedures are aligned with awarding body regulations and include any partners involved in the education and training of learners.
  • Lead internal quality assurance audits and reviews identifying key themes for improvement and ensuring compliance with college systems and best practices.

Staff Training and Development:

  • Provide training sessions and workshops to staff on OFSTED requirements and best practices.
  • Support professional development initiatives to enhance the skills and knowledge of faculty and staff about quality assurance.

Preparation for OFSTED Inspections:

  • Lead the college's preparation efforts for OFSTED inspections, including mock inspections and readiness assessments.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth and successful OFSTED inspection process.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and work collaboratively with the leadership team to implement changes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of improvements on overall quality and student outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in education, Quality Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Proven experience in a quality management role within an educational institution.

In-depth knowledge of OFSTED standards and inspection processes.

Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
