Contract: Permanent Contract (full-time 40hrs per week)

We are currently seeking to appoint a Head of Academic Standards and Quality on a Full-time, permanent basis.

As the Head of Academic Standards and Quality, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of academic and quality excellence across the organisation. We are looking for someone with significant experience in quality management within a university setting, who can lead and implement robust quality assurance processes to enhance the overall educational experience for our students.

The primary responsibility of leading and overseeing designated personnel and activities falls under the purview of the Head of Academic Standards and Quality. This role is specifically focused on maintaining and enhancing academic standards and quality within the college. The incumbent is tasked with providing guidance and direction to senior managers throughout the institution, ensuring the protection of the college’s reputation and compliance with quality assurance and regulatory frameworks.

The impact of the Head of Academic Standards and Quality extends beyond the campus, influencing the college’s perception at local, national, and international levels. This influence is felt in terms of the institution's reputation, academic standards, and the overall quality of the student experience.

Executing this role necessitates effective communication and collaboration with senior staff across the University. This involves employing skills such as influencing, negotiation, and brokering, as well as offering advice and guidance. In situations requiring decisive action, the role includes giving direction as needed.

Of course, the Head of Academic Standards and Quality is directly responsible for managing the Academic Standards and Quality team.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Quality Assurance Strategies:

Design, implement, and manage comprehensive quality assurance strategies and systems.

Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in higher education.

To monitor changes to the national regulatory framework for academic standards and quality assurance and general developments in the HE sectors, advise senior staff and propose action(s) to be taken by LSST in response.

Quality Assurance Oversight:

Oversee the evaluation of academic programs, ensuring they meet and exceed established quality benchmarks.

Collaborate with academic departments to develop and maintain quality assurance plans.

Regulatory and Accreditation Compliance:

Lead the preparation, coordination, completion and all matters involved in regulatory compliance and diverse accreditation processes of the several regulatory bodies and partner Universities that LSST works and complies with.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Collect and analyse data related to quality indicators.

Prepare regular reports on quality assurance activities and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify areas for improvement in academic and operational processes.

Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Training and Development:

Provide training and support to faculty and staff on quality assurance processes and standards.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with academic leaders, faculty, and administrative teams to ensure a holistic approach to quality assurance.

Build strong relationships with external partners, accreditation bodies, and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

A master's or doctoral degree in a relevant field.

Extensive experience (X years) in quality assurance within a university or higher education setting.

In-depth knowledge of OfS and accreditation processes and standards.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proven leadership experience in managing quality assurance programs.
