About the Role
Applications are sought for a Computational Postdoctoral Research Assistant to undertake research investigations under the supervision of Dr Özgen Deniz on a CRUK-funded project “Oncogenic and Immunogenic Roles of Transposable Elements in Cancer”. The appointed PDRA will be integrated into a multidisciplinary team and will collaborate with bioinformaticians, experimentalists and clinicians and develop/apply TE-centered bioinformatic pipelines for transcriptomic and epigenomic data sets.
About You
Essential requirements for this post include a PhD in a relevant biological or computational subject and background in computational analyses of genomics data. Experience in single-cell omics data is desirable. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential. The post holder will be responsible to develop pipelines for the analysis of transposable elements and must be organised, highly self-motivated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will need to manage their time and performance, must be strongly proactive, knowledgeable, and able to solve complex problems. The post holder will be expected to prepare manuscripts using high-quality data, make oral presentations and help supervise postgraduate and graduate students

The post is based at the Charterhouse Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 30 months. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £40,223- £44,722 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
