Faculty / Directorate

The Faculty of Art Design and Humanities (ADH) is home to many of DMU’s creative disciplines and humanities subjects and is one of the UK's leading Higher Education providers of creative disciplines. Working in a busy and dynamic professional services team, we provide comprehensive support to our 5000 students and 300 members of staff across our 3 main buildings; the award winning V J Patel Building, the Clephan Building and our Performing Arts Centre of Excellence.

Role

We are looking for someone to teach and lead on a range of modules in International Politics, with specific expertise around global inequalities, as well as issues focussing on democracy, to undergraduate and postgraduate students. This will involve the preparation and delivery of lectures and other classes, as well as supervising dissertations, and the associated marking and administrative roles in such a post.

You will be working as part of a team in the delivery of the teaching of politics and international relations. Within this team, there is a strong research ethos which informs and underpins that teaching.

The role is on a full time (37 hours per week), permanent basis.

Ideal Candidate

You should have a PhD, or be near completion, in the broad field of International Politics and Global Inequalities. There should be some experience of teaching, which is informed by their research. In addition, you will have the experience/ability to teach in the subject area of International Relations under other relevant sub-fields is equally desirable.

You should also have a passion for delivering quality education, as well as stimulating student enquiry. You'll be a team player, willing to work with colleagues across the section, school and faculty.
