Salary: £23700 to £27181 per annum, pro rata. Subject to annual pay award.

We are currently expanding and are seeking committed and passionate Academic and Practical Support Workers to join our Disability, Access and Learning Team.

As an Academic and Practical Support Worker you will:

  • Provide real-time and on-demand 1-1 note-taking during, for example, lectures, seminars and tutorials. This could be either hand written or typed depending on student requirements.
  • Provide 1-1 practical support for: manual handling based activities e.g. wheelchair pushing; independent living tasks e.g. campus familiarisation and orientation; social based activities e.g. social interaction during Fresher’s week. Please note personal care duties are not included in this role.
  • Provide 1-1 examination and assessment support e.g. reading examination papers, scribing student answers, and prompting. More information about these roles can be found here
  • Undertake general administrative duties to facilitate the provision of the services’ support.

There are 6 available roles, listed as A-F, all 33-week patterns with varying working hours as detailed on the Job Description. Applications for Full-time, Part-time and Job share will be considered.
