Post specification
This is a full-time position for 12 months contract with possible renewal. Attendance for 5 days per week [Monday to Saturday] with one weekday off in lieu of Saturdays.
The post-holder will be responsible for providing efficient and effective comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Principal at the highest level, in independent and self-managed capacity.
Job Description
The post-holder will manage communications with and for the Principal, and will be the primary point of contact between the Principal, the College community and the outside world. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are, therefore, central to the role. The manner in which the post-holder undertakes the duties of the role is important. The post-holder requires confidence in managing a demanding workload within tight deadlines. The post-holder will have highly developed leadership skills in assessing and prioritising the urgency of requests for information from, or access to, the Principal.
Qualifications Required
The successful applicant must possess excellent organisational and communication skills. They must have accurate and fast word-processing skills, and excellent IT skills, with an advanced knowledge of MS Outlook, including diary management, and Word, and an advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint. Experience of working in similar role, providing comprehensive administrative support to senior managers, along with the ability to relate appropriately with a wide range of people is essential.
Preference will be given to local applicants with excellent IT skills, and specialist knowledge in HRM practice and employment laws . Good knowledge of social media will be an added advantage.
