Salary in the range of £32,868 - £42,717 (dependent upon qualifications and experience) per annum

Duration: 3 year fixed term position with potential to extend up to a total of 5 years (subject to successful review at Year 3)

About the role:

A CRUK Fellowship grant funded Postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr Amaya Virós usandizaga to identify the biological mechanisms responsible for driving metastasis and tropism in young and aged patients; and to study the tissue specific factors contributing to immunotherapy response. The project aims to integrate knowledge gained from the study of in vitro and in vivo models of melanoma with patient derived genomic, immunologic, metabolomic and clinical data; and translate this to clinical benefit for skin cancer patients.

About you:

You will be a highly motivated, proactive problem solver who relishes a challenge and will develop your independent ideas for project direction and delivery.  You should have a PhD* in cell biology, cell metabolism, immunology, or a relevant field. A background in melanoma, metabolism, ageing and senescence, bioinformatics or use of in vivo cancer models is highly desirable but not required.

*as a minimum requirement candidates must have submitted their thesis by the start date of their employment and awarded their PhD within the specified probationary period.
