We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and creative scientist to join a collaborative project between Dr Andrew McKenzie at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) and Dr Daniele Corridoni at AstraZeneca. This will investigate how specific neuronal circuits and immune cells interact to promote inappropriate immune reactions, leading to autoimmunity or pathogenic inflammation. You will join a highly integrated and motivated team with diverse skills and expertise focussed on the cellular and molecular regulation of innate lymphoid cells and their roles in health and disease (Nat Immunol. 2021 PMID 33432227 and 2023 PMID 36550322; Sci Immunol. 2022 PMID 35658010; Immunity. 2023 PMID 37285842).

Candidate requirements

You should have a PhD in immunology or neuroscience (or another relevant subject) or be due to complete your PhD within six months of starting. Knowledge or experience of the following would be advantageous: high dimensional flow cytometry; generation and analysis of single cell transcriptome data; computational and bioinformatics skills; generation and analysis of mouse models of disease; analysis of human biopsy samples; molecular biology skills including CRISPR; cell culture.

This is a training and development position suitable for you if you have recently completed your doctoral studies, or you are looking to move into a new research discipline and/or need to further develop your research skills. Working with our world class scientists you will be working in an Institute renowned for its excellent scientific facilities and high-quality research.

The LMB has a collaborative working culture and state-of-the-art building based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
