Since its establishment in 1948, the Max Planck Society has brought forth 31 Novel Prize laureates. The Max Planck Society conducts fundamental research in the natural sciences, life sciences, social sciences, and the humanities at the highest level of excellence. The 84 institutes, some of which are also located outside Germany, focus on research fields that are particularly innovative and call for a highly developed infrastructure.
