An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project and Implementation Senior Manager to manage our new three-year NIHR i4i (Invention for Innovation) Product Development Award grant: ‘Clinical translation and commercialisation of ORBIT (Online Remote Behavioural Intervention for Tics). The project is a collaboration with the leading clinical and academic experts in tic disorders in the UK and involves partners from across academia, the NHS, industry, and the charity sector, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, The East Midlands Academic Health Science Network and Tourettes Action. You will be based in the Institute of Mental Health and join the vibrant and supportive Mental Health & Technology Research Group, which includes the NIHR MindTech MIC and Mental Health & Technology theme of the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre.

Working closely with the programme co-leads (Prof Chris Hollis and Dr Charlotte Hall), you will provide leadership and management to ensure the successful delivery of the project. You will contribute to the strategic, budgetary, resource and operational planning of all activities. A key function of your role will to be the visible, accessible, and proactive first point of contact for work package leads and collaborators and to promote our activities and outputs both nationally and internationally. You will also be responsible for liaising with the project funder (NIHR). A major focus of the role will be the development of the business case for ORBIT commercialisation and uptake in the NHS.

The role holder will be able to manage competing priorities, have strong facilitation skills with attention to power dynamics, will be able to make difficult and challenging decisions and understand and present information to facilitate change.

You will have an honours degree and project management qualification (or equivalent experience) and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience of research project management and experience or knowledge of developing business cases for healthtech products is essential.

This position is offered on a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2027. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours), Monday to Friday, although the working hours pattern has some flexibility. Arrangements for job share may be considered. Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
