My MEDIC Learning Development Unit - Deputy Director

You will provide academic leadership, alongside the Director of My Medic Learning Development Unit (LDU), in the development of the service within the Cardiff University School of Medicine for students across Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes, in addition to supporting students who contact the service. 
 
The My Medic LDU team are a multi-professional group of committed staff, and this exciting opportunity aims to increase capacity within the team. Over the coming years, C4ME seeks to develop the My Medic LDU service into a holistic learning support unit, with a focus on ensuring each student has a personalised learning plan in place to support their individual needs and academic path, within a more flexible educational environment. My MEDIC LDU offers bespoke support for undergraduate students within the School of Medicine, alongside wider University and NHS services. 
 
In addition to leadership of the service, the post-holder will also work with the My Medic LDU Director and the Dean of Medical Education to develop curricular content aligned to My Medic LDU and review the outcomes of such interventions using pedagogically sound principles. 

You will provide academic leadership and promote excellence in the teaching environment and career development of staff. You will lead the development and implementation of initiatives for innovation and impact, promote and develop links with internal and external stakeholders to maximise opportunities for collaborative working.  
 
Applicants should also be able to demonstrate academic leadership experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level. 

The post is based at the Heath Park site.
