The Language Gallery

Contract Type: Permanent; Part-time (PT) and Hourly Paid Lecturer (HPL) positions available

  • Are you passionate about delivering academic excellence?
  • Would you like to join a dynamic team who is determined to deliver a world-class service?

Who we are

The Language Gallery (TLG) in the UK is part of the thriving Global University Systems Group, with a reputation of excellence in providing English Language and University Pathways programmes. Aided by our strong partnerships with St. Mary’s University (Twickenham London), Bishop Grossette University (BGU), we welcome students currently studying around the world in some of the world’s biggest cities. We currently have 3 campuses and have ambitious growth plans – which makes for an exciting time to join TLG!

At the very heart of our vision is a student-centred learning and teaching methodology which is progressive, forward-thinking, modern, and designed to meet our learners’ needs.

The Role

At TLG, we’ve had huge uptake in student numbers coupled with our new partnership with Bishop Grossette University (BGU) and this demand had led us to opening a new campus in Birmingham and Nottingham, which is in addition to our two campuses in London. As such, we’re looking for Business Management Lecturers to join our fantastic teaching team. Our business model requires x2, 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) Business Lecturers on each of our two campuses.

The Business Lecturer will work collaboratively to build strong relationships with the key leaders and the staff of The Language Gallery, delivering high-quality teaching demonstrating an overarching understanding of our core modules: Business Management, Organisational Behaviour, Digital Business, Professional Skills, Marketing, and Finance.

The CertHE is pivotal in students' progression to university courses as part of TLG’s widening access and participation commitments. The role focuses on creating holistic approaches to teaching and learning across subjects, ensuring that the experiences delivered engage, retain and progress students. The Lecturer will bring a combination of academic experience, capabilities and personality to engage diverse students with non-traditional backgrounds. They will be passionate about working with students, colleagues, the college and the wider community with a record of successfully progressing students.

All lecturers are expected to develop and share teaching and learning materials with all associated assessments and teach students in the areas of Business at Level 4. They are expected to convene modules, teach in a variety of settings (including on-campus and online, both in large groups and in seminars), create and mark assessments, provide tutorials and independent study supervision, and fulfil other Lecturer and School responsibilities, including administration, recruitment, and marketing. It is expected that lecturers will be able to teach all core modules at this level. The candidate will demonstrate how their experience and expertise can translate into teaching, curriculum development and programme development.

All lecturers need to work flexibly as part of a team, develop teaching and learning strategies, and contribute to academic quality by pursuing excellence in teaching. The post holder will participate in team meetings, and any training required and work with a hands-on approach to ensure, together with the other Team Members, the administration of TLG HE is smooth and fully compliant.

We are looking for individuals who are progressive, forward-thinking and engage in innovative teaching methods. You will be able to combine traditional classroom teaching with digital tools to engage our diverse range of student in their learning journey!
