Manchester Metropolitan is one of the UK's largest universities, at the heart of a vibrant city region, and with an exciting vision to grow further the scale, quality, and impact of our research. Research and Innovation (R&I) is a professional service Directorate which supports and drives the operational delivery of the University's research strategy.

The Research Assessment Manager will provide support for the planning, preparation, and administration of the University's submission to research assessment exercises such as the Research Excellence Framework. The post holder will work alongside professional services and academic colleagues including Unit of Assessment Coordinators to maximise outcomes for the University. They will provide expertise and guidance on rules and regulations whilst establishing and delivering clear systems for administration and reporting around submission progress and activity.

The successful candidate will play an active role in supporting a positive research culture in line with the ambitions of the University's Road to 2030 vision, our Research Strategy, and supporting activities to evidence the quality of our research environment and which underline our commitments to the career development of researchers, research integrity, the responsible use of metrics, and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
