As a member of the Finance Helpdesk team the postholder will be responsible for providing effective and efficient support and advice directly to university staff, students and third parties on all aspects of University Finance.

FTE: 1.0 (35 hours/week)
Term: Fixed Term (24 months)

The Finance Directorate is responsible for approximately £300m of income and expenditure annually, represented by in excess of 150,000 transactions annually, with around 7,500 staff and students having access to our Finance systems to initiate, review and approve financial transactions and reports. Based within the Finance Directorate, you will have a key role as part of the Finance Helpdesk Team who are responsible for providing the highest standard of professional advice and support on a broad range of Finance matters to all our students, staff and external customers and suppliers. The Finance Helpdesk Team is the first point of contact for all financial transactional enquiries. This role will involve dealing effectively with enquiries ensuring resolution within the required turnaround times. You will also be required to establish an excellent understanding of the customer experience and contribute to continuous improvement in day-to-day financial working practices, suggesting improvements and contributing to the ongoing review and update of standard operating procedures across the full suite of financial processes. You will also be required to prepare, support and deliver key financial training courses across the University. With a formal qualification such as an HND or with considerable relevant experience, you will have a developing track record of contributing at a professional level within a Finance environment. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience of working with Unit 4 Business World within an HE Finance environment across Procure to Pay (P2P), Sales to Cash (S2C), General Ledger, Expenses, Project Costing Billing (PCB) and commitment accounting. You will have experience of providing excellent customer service and professional advice and you must demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to providing the highest quality of service and training. You will also require a good understanding of the Customer Service Excellence Standard. You will have analytical and problem-solving skills to identify solutions which align with business needs and organisational strategy. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to work effectively as part of the Helpdesk Team as well as providing support across the wider Finance Directorate.
