We are looking for an ambitious, motivated Postdoctoral researcher to join a dynamic research program discovering how chromatin regulation is altered in childhood cancer.

The Opportunity:

The successful candidate will work in a research group focused on understanding how altering the normal processes of chromatin and epigenetic regulation supports oncogenic gene expression programs in childhood brain tumours. You will integrate into a multi-disciplinary research environment where we seek to translate our fundamental discoveries toward the development and implementation of improved therapies for these often-underserved diseases. In this role, you will use cutting-edge biochemical and functional genomics approaches to study the function of essential chromatin regulatory complexes supporting oncogenic gene expression. Discovering important aspects of how these complexes function in cancer cells, will allow us to begin to develop novel therapeutic strategies to subvert their function(s).

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Expertise in chromatin biology and epigenetics
  • Expertise in functional genomics
  • Expertise in biochemistry
  • Success acquiring research funding
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong publication record
