The Position: We’re looking for an Electrification Lecturer

Are you passionate about the future of transportation and sustainable energy solutions? Do you have expertise in power electronic machine drives, as well as electric and hydrogen vehicles? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Electrification Lecturer.

What skills are we looking for:

  • Proficiency in power electronic machine drives, encompassing motor control techniques, inverters, converters, and related components.
  • In-depth understanding of electric and hydrogen vehicle technologies, including propulsion systems, energy storage, and charging infrastructure.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner to students.
  • Experience developing curriculum materials, lectures, and practical sessions related to electrification topics.
  • Skilled in fostering an engaging and interactive learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
  • Capable of assessing student learning outcomes and providing constructive feedback to support their academic and professional development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts to students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Ability to communicate with clarity, enthusiasm, and professionalism during lectures, discussions, and interactions with students and colleagues.
  • Capacity to collaborate with industry partners, academic colleagues, and other stakeholders to integrate real-world applications and case studies into the curriculum.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships within the academic community and industry to enhance teaching and research opportunities.
  • Dedication to staying updated on the latest advancements, emerging trends, and best practices in electrification, sustainable energy, and related fields.
  • Willingness to pursue professional development opportunities, attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance teaching effectiveness and expand expertise.

Responsibilities for the role:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions on electric and hydrogen vehicle technologies.
  • Design and teach courses focusing on power electronic machine drives, including principles, applications, and emerging trends.
  • Foster a dynamic and interactive learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students, supporting their academic and professional development in the field of electrification.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to integrate real-world applications and case studies into the curriculum.
  • Contribute to research initiatives and publications in electrification and related fields.

The Location: The site is based in Nuneaton at the Mira Technology Institute; the role may include working at other NWSLC sites as well as off-site when required.
