The School of Arts is a place where talent thrives and ambitions are realised. Our impressive facilities range from our producing and learning theatre, photography lab, purpose-built studios and a huge variety of creative spaces.

We are a creative community that is supportive in helping students shape their individual identities and styles. Our courses focus on graduate employability and helping establish our students as artists and practitioners.

The Therapeutic Arts team is formed of a group of expert practitioners and academics delivering a range of four post-graduate accredited therapy programmes, Art therapy, Dramatherapy, Music therapy and Dance Movement Psychotherapy. Our focus is on the student, their learning, and their practical experience in comprehensive placements.

The Impact you will have

With a focus on graduate employability, you will be involved in all aspects of training arts therapies students. You’ll support students' development to become practicing therapists in their chosen modality and with an approach rooted in taught theory, clinical experiences, group exploration and self-understanding. This requires a commitment to the student journey and the development of Dramatherapy as a profession. You will join an established team of professionals and support developments in the field, through pedagogy, research and clinical skills. You will take on specific responsibilities within programme development e.g. placement co-ordination and have a real understanding of the subtle differences between being a clinician and an educator.

What we need you to bring to the team

  • Flexible approach to work
  • Significant experience of own discipline to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field
  • A sound understanding of internationalisation and its relevance for learners and the curriculum
  • Committed to a high-performance culture, fostering continuous improvement and driving quality
  • Innovative and Creative
