The role:

To deliver high quality teaching and learning across a range of electrical/mechanical and electronic engineering programmes, creating a positive environment to enable all learners to reach their full potential in terms of academic, social and personal development.

  • You will have no fixed working hours, and will work on an ad hoc basis
  • Provide sickness cover or temporary cover
  • £16.62 - £32.71 per hour (dependent on qualifications on experience)

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and teach up to level 5, across a range of electronics/electrical engineering courses, ensuring schemes/records of work, assignment schedules, are appropriate to the syllabus content and awarding body standards.
  • Ensure teaching and learning strategies and teaching materials are planned well to be accessible to meet the varied needs of all learners, and that Welsh Government initiatives e.g. ESDGC; Welsh Ethos; ES; Employability are embedded and assessed effectively.
  • Assess and monitor learner progress, including the setting of targets, maintaining records of work and achievement in line with internal and external schedules/ criteria and college targets

About you:

  • Ability to deliver Courses Levels 1-5
  • Ability to teach Level 5 modules specifically in: Engineering Maths, Electrical & Engineering Principles, Machine & Power Engineering, Analogue Communications, Control, Programming Microcontrollers and Applications, DSPs, Microprocessors, PLCs.
  • Proven track record of achieving excellent results, attendance and punctuality, providing a strong role model for learners.
  • Ability to support and nurture diverse learning groups with the aim of meeting desired outcomes.
