This post is full-time (35 hrs. per week) and has funding for up to 17 months.

The University of Glasgow is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Planetary Science within the School of Geographical & Earth Sciences.

The successful candidate will make a leading contribution to a project titled ‘Solar-Wind: a nano-scale origin of Water (SNOW)’ working with Dr Luke Daly and Professor Martin Lee. This STFC-funded project is part of a larger research programme called ‘The Cosmic Carbon Observatory’ and will run in parallel with a project titled ‘post-hydration evolution of C-Complex asteroids’ led by Professor Martin Lee. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.

They will have the opportunity to learn novel and advanced analytical techniques applied to exciting extraterrestrial samples. They will also have opportunities to grow their research network by working with project partners at CAMECA, the University of Oxford and the University of Sydney, as well as attending international conferences.
