About the Role

As Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Midwifery Education, you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of relevant modules and other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience. You will be expected to contribute to the research activities of one of our Research Units and meet the qualitative and qualitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence exercise.

This post is to support the expansion and development of Edge Hill University midwifery provision. The appointee will have primary responsibility for the development and use of teaching and learning strategies that promotes the development of undergraduate and post graduate midwifery registrants who can work effectively within a multi professional team across aspects of a programme.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. You will be expected to have a well-developed breadth of subject knowledge that can be applied to midwifery student contexts, and a record of successful engagement with professional development opportunities. You will have excellent, effective and adaptive teaching skills underpinned by sound pedagogical principles and you will continue to develop breadth and depth of subject knowledge and evidence of continuing professional development. 

As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer you will have evidence of the ability to work in a team and hold the emotional intelligence to support students in their studies through academic tutoring. You will show excellent leadership skills, be enthusiastic about your subject knowledge resulting in you being a good role model for students and implementing a willing to learn attitude for both you and students.

It is important to note that the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure for you from the Disclosure and Barring Service and that this will form part of the conditions of offer of employment.
