The School of Health and Society is looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the role of Reader in Social Inequality. We are looking for an established academic who will contribute to the expansion of research, innovation and scholarship in the Directorate of Social Sciences and more broadly across the School of Health and Society.

The successful candidate will have a commitment to collaborative working and staff development and have an engaging leadership style.  The post-holder will provide key research leadership within the Directorate.

As a Reader in Social Inequality, you will be supported to advance your own career whilst contributing to our research, innovation and entrepreneurial culture. You will develop plans and deliver objectives that align with the School’s research and innovation strategy, and the Directorate development plans.  You will be a member of a thriving research community and based in the Centre for Research on Inclusive Society. Whilst we are open in terms of research focus, we would be particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the following areas: work and welfare, social care, the criminal justice system, deviance and victimology, social justice, health equality and inclusion.
