This post provides an exciting opportunity to utilise and develop your data-handling and problem-solving skills, and gain experience in the rapidly evolving field of clinical data management. You will be working as part of the Data Management team at the Norwich Clinical Trials Unit to develop fast, secure and user-friendly web-based data collection systems for clinical trials that are answering important health questions for patients in the UK. You will be working with the most up-to date software and hardware, and designing innovative solutions for complex data management projects, as well as helping maintain and improve existing systems.

The systems we produce are developed with REDCap, so familiarity with this platform would be advantageous but not essential as training will be given. Basic query-writing skills would also be beneficial but not essential and support will be given as required.

In addition to ensuring that data management systems meet the needs of researchers, the role involves ensuring that systems perform to a high quality standard and comply with research and data regulations e.g. Good Clinical Practice, the UK Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) regulations, the NHS Research Governance Framework, the Data Protection Act and Information Governance best practices. Training in these regulatory requirements will be provided.

The role involves frequent communication with researchers and other stakeholders to gather requirements and give feedback, so the ability to gather information from written and oral sources as well as effectively communicating when feeding back ideas and solutions is essential.

NCTU is a successful and growing Clinical Trials Unit. We pride ourselves on having a friendly and supportive working environment, and allow a degree of flexible working around certain core office hours. We invest in our staff, and funding is available for attending training courses to further develop your skills.

This full-time post is available from 1 May 2024 on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

Further information on our great benefits package, including 34 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and additional University Customary days, can be found on our benefits page.

Closing date: 8 March 2024

The University holds an Athena Swan Silver Institutional Award in recognition of our advancement towards gender equality.
