The Digital Humanities Institute is the UK’s leading Digital Humanities centres, providing research and teaching in humanities-led digital methods, technology research and online publishing. Its mission is to support the innovative use of technology and computation within Arts and Humanities research as both a method of inquiry and a means of dissemination.
We are looking to appoint a new member of academic staff to a Lecturer position. The position involves teaching, research and leadership. We are looking for a creative individual with a strong interest in and commitment to the discipline of Digital Humanities; an enthusiasm for teaching delivery; and a collegiate outlook and approach to their work. You will be joining our extremely successful team of lecturers, researchers and software engineers, who already undertake Digital Humanities research in a wide range of areas.
We are seeking applicants with a demonstrable research interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods and applications within the Arts and Humanities. You will have a PhD in an Arts and Humanities subject, or a related subject area, and you will have research and teaching strengths in Digital Humanities or related areas. You will have a demonstrable knowledge and track record of using Digital Humanities methodologies within arts and humanities research, with a particular focus on AI.
With proven, exceptional teaching abilities in the field of Digital Humanities, you will play a key role in the delivery of team-taught modules on our postgraduate degrees, MA Digital Culture & Communication and MA Cultural Data Management & Communication, as well as contributing to our postgraduate research programmes. You will also be expected to contribute to the Digital Humanities Institute’s presence within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and the wider University.
