We are seeking to recruit a Senior Programme Manager to work within Imperial College Business School. The Business School is a world-leading research institute, home to a suite of innovative MBA and MSc programmes.

This Senior Programme Manager reports to the Programme Director, MBA Suite, and will be responsible for the professional and efficient delivery of this corporate MBA programme. The SPM works with other relevant teams across the Business School, Imperial College and the client’s Leading and Development team to ensure a high-quality development experience for participants on the programme. The post holder will work on campus and remotely, representing Imperial College London in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They will deputise for the Programme Director as needed and assume the lead in seizing opportunities and resolving problems. The post holder will interact with the corporate’s client and manage related projects to provide a world-class educational experience for programme participants. The Senior Programme Manager will be the first point of contact for the client on all programme matters financial, legal, operational and logistical. The post holder is expected to travel and work overseas in Saudi Arabia 4-5 days monthly.  A willingness to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and manage the programme strategy in line with the Business School’s and client’s shared vision. Facilitate the involvement of the Academic Director, Programme Director and other key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain excellent customer relationships and develop/maintain a detailed knowledge base of their needs and drivers, ensuring effective day-to-day client engagement.
  • Maintain regular communication with client counterparts to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Design and operationalise programme logistics with the client, ensuring excellent participant experience.
  • Engage with Departments, Faculties, and College support services (e.g. Enterprise Lab) to support activities across the School and College, ensuring maintenance of good communication channels.
  • Collaborate with the MBA Programme Director to draw up develop budgets and monitor spending within formally delegated approval levels; to proactively look for cost efficiencies in line with the School’s strategy for profitable growth.
  • To lead the operational management of the programme leading and managing change according to the needs and priorities of the School and College.

The post holder will be required to work flexibly in order to meet service delivery and client scheduling requirements. The post holder will be required to travel, within the UK and overseas (primarily Saudi Arabia), to deliver programmes and represent the school at professional events. All normal travel expenses conforming to Imperial College requirements will be reimbursed by the School and the Client. This postholder will be required to work outside normal working hours, including evenings, holidays and weekends.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience of working in education or similar academic environment.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment
  • Significant project management and/or account relationship management experience, coordinating internal activities to meet deadlines and delivery expectations of external clients.
  • Knowledge of Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), Learning Management System e.g. Blackboard, Moodle, etc or a Content Management System or similar and familiar with cloud/collaborative document applications, such as Google docs, Dropbox etc.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative to deal with unforeseen problems and circumstances
