Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) seeks to appoint a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) or Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Innovation and Sustainable Business. The position offers an internationally competitive salary, reasonable teaching load, generous research support, and a vibrant environment committed to producing world-leading research, delivering excellent teaching, and generating economic and societal impact. The successful applicant will be appointed at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level, depending on experience and standing. This is a permanent position, subject to probation at Lecturer level.
This Lecturer/Senior Lecturer role is teaching-and-research focused. The successful applicant will contribute to research, teaching, and knowledge transfer/impact in the field of innovation and sustainable business, broadly defined. The standard model is 40% of time focussed on research and scholarship, 40% on teaching, and 20% on service and leadership. New lecturers enjoy a three year probation period with a reduced teaching load.
We will support the successful applicant in pursuing an exciting and innovative research agenda that address some of the most pressing sustainability challenges in the business world. As a member of the Innovation, Strategy and Sustainability (ISS) Group, the successful applicant will teach on related degree programmes at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. The ISS group offers an MSc in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, alongside other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes it provides to the school and wider University. The group is also leading the development of a new Masters programme (MSc in Sustainable Business), to which the successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute as part of a significant Faculty investment in the sustainability agenda. Members of the ISS Group are affiliated with the Sustainable Consumption Institute (SCI) and/or the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR).
