The Post
Over the past few years the Marketing and Retail Division has seen its student body grow rapidly, as a consequence we are now seeking to strengthen our key areas of research and teaching competence. These are:
- Consumer Research (including consumer behaviour, branding and marketing management);
- Transformative Technologies (including digital and marketing analytics);
- Retailing and Supply Chain (including channel management, omni-channel delivery, relationship marketing and sustainability).
The main duties associated with this post are as follows:
- Deliver research of high quality and publish in internationally recognised journals in the area of Marketing.
- Provide innovative teaching and module leadership in the area of Marketing across a range of postgraduate and undergraduate programmes.
- Apply for external research funding and develop academic and other stakeholder community networks to build an international profile.
- Contribute to the delivery of the Schools international partnerships and collaborations.
- Engage in knowledge exchange activities with non-academic stakeholders
- Contribute to the reputation and successful operation and growth of the Division and School.
In addition, individuals may be required to travel and work overseas as part of their academic duties.

Description of Duties
Grade 7
- Contribute to the design, delivery, assessment and evaluation of a range of teaching and learning, supervision and assessment activities across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including online/digital programmes, where required
- Contribute to the enhancement of the quality of teaching provision and programme development, drawing on leading practices from the HE sector
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of effective approaches to teaching and learning support as key contributions to high quality student learning
Grade 8
- Design, deliver, assess and evaluate a range of teaching and learning, supervision and assessment activities across undergraduate, postgraduate including online/digital programmes, where required
- Contribute to curriculum review and enhancement, in a manner that supports student learning and is underpinned by evidence based scholarly activity
- Enhance the quality of teaching provision and programme development, drawing on leading practices from the HE sector
Essential Criteria
Grade 7
Qualifications
- Completed or expected completion of PhD / DBA / DMan or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Individuals close to completion will be expected to have submitted within six months of their appointment
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Experience or knowledge to design, deliver, assess and evaluate modules in the subject area
- Demonstrate an understanding of or provide evidence of developing effective approaches to teaching and learning, student support and guidance
Grade 8
Qualifications
- PhD / DBA / DMan or equivalent in a relevant discipline
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Experience of designing and delivering excellent learning activities and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level preferably including online/digital programmes
- Evidence of developing effective learning environments and approaches to student support and guidance
