As we embark on our seventh decade, and eighteen months since our new Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Sasha Roseneil, took office, the University of Sussex is currently developing a new strategy, Sussex 2035. This will focus our research, education, and global and civic engagement activities on a number of key goals, within a newly articulated Mission and Vision for the University.
A transformational programme of work is underway to support the University’s commitment to an outstanding experience for all students. This has included a reconfiguration of services supporting the student experience; the introduction of new ways of working and the delivery of a flagship Student Centre where students can access a range of services and activities designed to enhance their experiences.
This provision is bringing greater efficiencies and effectiveness of service delivery, through exploitation of new technologies, to present a coherent offer to all students improving brand, reputation, satisfaction, and student outcomes.
This important role provides leadership for high quality comprehensive student support and wellbeing services across the University, with responsibility for oversight of regulatory obligations placed upon the University in these areas.
The role holder will ensure appropriate working partnerships are in place with colleagues, students, and external stakeholders, which are conducive to the effective realisation of the University’s strategic aspirations in relation to student support and wellbeing.
As lead for the University Mental Health Charter the role holder will be the Champion for the wellbeing of our student community and provide oversight and support to a wide range of colleagues across the University community on student related activities and initiatives.
