Full-time, Fixed term for 27 months
We are seeking an ambitious, talented and motivated individual to be at the centre of an innovative KTP project with Borehole Solutions Ltd and Leeds Beckett University.
This 27-month role will see you work with the engineering team at Borehole Solutions to develop the first large-scale soil laboratory testing programme to validate data and provide a detailed insight into sonic drilling throughout the UK. The project and role are vital in fulfilling Borehole Solutions strategic aim to drive the adoption of sonic drilling across the UK and to position themselves as a market leader in the provision of this service.
Supported by a comprehensive project plan and academics at Leeds Beckett University you will work with the team at Borehole Solutions to:
Borehole Solutions Ltd are site investigation specialists based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire offering ground investigation, geotechnical and environmental services to architects, builders, structural and consultant engineers, local authorities and private industry. They are a leading provider of geotechnical drilling solutions across the UK with over 20 years’ experience.
We are looking for applications from a self-starter, with strong interpersonal skills and project management experience. You will have an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or similar with excellent geotechnical knowledge. Professional work experience in site investigation and/or in a civil engineering laboratory testing environment along with an understanding of the British Standards for testing soils (e.g. the triaxial test) would be advantageous. Excellent IT literacy, with the ability to work with, and analyse large data sets, is required.
The role will provide you with senior level experience and an opportunity to lead a project across a range of business functions including lab testing, data analysis and commercialisation. This will be an exciting role for the right candidate presenting an excellent opportunity to make a tangible difference to the business. You will be well supported by academic experts at Leeds Beckett and colleagues at Borehole Solutions Ltd, but you need to be open to new challenges and prepared to involve yourself in all aspects of the business.
