We are seeking a visionary Director of Teaching and Learning Development to lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching and learning experiences across our campus’. 

Role Overview:

The Director of Teaching and Learning Development will be responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, and implementation of innovative teaching and learning initiatives to support student success and academic excellence. This role requires a forward-thinking individual with a passion for educational innovation and a commitment to enhancing teaching effectiveness and student engagement. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Planning and Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for teaching and learning development aligned with the college’s mission, goals, and priorities.
  • Provide leadership and direction to faculty, staff, and administrators on best practices in teaching and learning pedagogy, instructional design, and educational technology integration. 

Faculty Development and Support:

  • Design and deliver professional development programs and workshops to enhance faculty members' pedagogical skills, instructional techniques, and use of innovative teaching methods.
  • Provide individualized coaching and mentoring to faculty members to support their professional growth and effectiveness in the classroom. 

Curriculum Design and Assessment:

  • Collaborate with academic departments to design, develop, and evaluate curriculum enhancements that promote active learning, critical thinking, and student engagement.
  • Lead efforts to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning strategies, curriculum innovations, and educational technologies. 

Technology Integration:

  • Identify and evaluate emerging educational technologies and tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Provide guidance and support to faculty members in integrating technology into their instructional practices and course design. 

Student Engagement and Success:

  • Work collaboratively with student support services and academic advisors to promote student engagement, retention, and success.
  • Develop initiatives to enhance student learning outcomes, promote academic integrity, and foster a culture of continuous improvement in teaching and learning. 

Research and Scholarship:

  • Engage in scholarly activities and research projects related to teaching and learning effectiveness, educational innovation, and student success.
  • Disseminate research findings through publications, presentations, and conference participation to contribute to the field of higher education. 

Qualifications:

  • D. or terminal degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, or a related field.
  • Long standing experience in teaching, faculty development, instructional design, or educational leadership in higher education.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pedagogical best practices, curriculum design, and assessment strategies.
  • Strong understanding of educational technologies and their applications in teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience in developing and implementing teaching and learning initiatives at the institutional level.
  • Record of scholarly research and publication in the field of teaching and learning preferred.
