In this role, you will support teaching, learning, and assessment in our Biomolecular Science programme, our joint Pharmacology and Biochemistry programme with China Pharmaceutical University (CPU), Nanjing-China, the MPharm and relevant MSc programmes. The Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS) wishes to appoint a Teaching Associate in Biochemistry. In this role, you will support teaching, learning, and assessment in our Biomolecular Science programme, our joint Pharmacology and Biochemistry programme with China Pharmaceutical University (CPU), Nanjing-China, the MPharm and relevant MSc programmes. As part of this role, you will spend 2 x 3 weeks teaching each academic year at CPU (normally in October and April), as part of our joint Pharmacology and Biochemistry programme. The successful candidate will join an energetic and ambitious Institute committed to bold and innovative research and education. Our teaching in Biomolecular Sciences is accredited by both the Institute of Biomedical Sciences and the Royal Society of Biology and SIPBS is ranked third in the UK for Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Complete University Guide, 2024). In the UK Research Excellence Framework 2021 (REF2021), SIPBS was part of a submission that was the highest-performing Scottish institution in UoA3 (Unit of Assessment 3, Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy).
You will ideally have a degree in Biochemistry but those with a degree in Pharmacology or Biomedical Sciences will also be considered. Applicants will also hold a PhD in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional or teaching experience.
