We're excited to announce an opportunity to join our team at Birkbeck, University of London, as an Alumni Engagement Officer. As we enter our third century, we are looking for a passionate individual to help shape and expand our volunteering and engagement opportunities for our global community of 80,000 alumni.

  • Annual salary of £37,143, rising to £42,365.
  • Full-time position with a 35-hour work week.
  • Opportunity to contribute to the development of volunteering programmes that support our students at Birkbeck.

As our Alumni Engagement Officer, you will:

  • Deliver Birkbeck’s flagship mentoring programme, continually reviewing and enhancing it,
  • Develop and implement a range of alumni engagement and stewardship activities with both local and international reach,
  • Plan, develop and deliver strategic volunteer opportunities, building relationships with alumni and corporate partners,
  • Oversee the development of engagement with students during their studies and ensure a seamless transition to becoming a member of the Birkbeck alumni community,
  • Support in sourcing and producing content to highlight the impact of alumni engagement and volunteering programmes.

The ideal candidate for the Alumni Engagement Officer role will have:

  • Understanding of alumni volunteering in a higher education or charity setting,
  • Strong organisational, time management and planning skills,
  • Proactive approach to work, with the ability to use initiative to solve challenges,
  • Experience of delivering volunteering and/or engagement programmes.

Salary
