The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Sussex invites applications for the position of Lecturer B in Physics. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise and teaching experience in one or more of the following areas
The successful candidate will be an independent, enthusiastic, and committed academic with a top teaching and research track record who is a team player and would enjoy working in a young, dynamic and growing department.
The Department offers BSc and MPhys courses in Physics (also with minors), a Foundation Year, and several MSc courses, covering all research directions of the Department.
In the 2021 research excellence framework (REF), 95.3% per cent of our research outputs were classified as world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*). In this exercise our research environment was rated to be 7th in the UK.
Research in Physics and Astronomy at Sussex is grouped into Atomic and Molecular Physics, Astronomy, Experimental Particle Physics, Material Physics and Theoretical Particle Physics.
The postholder will be member of the Sussex Centre for Quantum Technologies, one of 12 Centres of Excellence at the University of Sussex, which spans across multiple departments at Sussex.
