University of Birmingham Dubai
Having established ourselves in Dubai International Academic City in 2018 we have now moved to our new state-of-the-art campus which opened in Sept 2021. These posts represent an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious World Top 100 University as we continue to grow our long-term strategic mission in Dubai, the UAE and the wider region. Our campus reflects the very best of Birmingham through our presence in Dubai.
Background
The Research Fellow (RF) will play an important role in the University of Birmingham Dubai’s project on increasing capacity, and research led teaching, in sustainability education in UAE Schools. This 18-month project is funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office through their UAE embassy. This project will equip school students in the UAE with the knowledge and skills required to engage and advocate for environmental sustainability through individual and community behavioural change. This project will also engage with industry and government to ascertain what green skills are required in the regional labour market and how schools can further engage in this area.
Role Summary
This is a Dubai – based role for 12 months commencing early April 2024 until completion of the project at the end of March 2025. The Research Fellow will provide overall project facilitation – working closely with UAE schools and relevant industry/government organisations and the wider project team at the University of Birmingham (Dubai and Edgbaston campuses) – to ensure project milestones are delivered on time and within budget.
