Assistant / Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine (Honorary Consultant)

Applications are invited for the post of Assistant/Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, Department of Medicine.

Applicants should hold GMC specialist registration or be eligible for entry on Register, or within six months of receipt of certificate of completion of training at time of interview. Applicants should hold clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK certificate of completion of training in both Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine, and training required to fulfil all aspects of the clinical role.

You are required to hold a PhD/DPhil/MD at the time of your application and be of the standing required for an appropriate honorary contract of service with the NHS.  Candidates should have a developing bibliography of research publications and track record of securing research funding.

The successful candidate will be appointed on the Clinical Consultant scale for Assistant/Associate Professor and the candidate can take up the appointment as soon as possible. For University Associate Professors and University Assistant Professors the appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a five year probationary period.

This is an integrated appointment between the University and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and as such requires an Honorary Clinical Contract, which will be issued by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You should be aware that if your contract with the NHS Trust is terminated your employment with the University will be terminated, and vice versa. 

You will require GMC registration, Licence to Practice and medical defence cover for the duration of your appointment.
