Post Summary
The Department of Political Science, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Political Science and Asian Politics, to commence on 1st September 2024. This is a tenure-track position.
The School wishes to make the appointment in the area of Asian politics. The successful candidate will study some aspect of Asian politics, with the specific subregion (East Asia, South Asia, etc.) being open. Applications are welcome from the subfields of either comparative politics or international relations. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate outstanding excellence in teaching and have experience in teaching as lead instructor for a variety of modules. The successful candidate should be able to teach and supervise undergraduate and masters-level dissertation topics in various areas of political science, as well as to contribute flexibly across the range of the Department’s teaching needs. The successful candidate will have an active research agenda/publication strategy in Asian politics as well as an approach to research that complements the Department of Political Science’s existing strengths in comparative and institutional analysis. An ability to teach courses in research methods and/or research design at both undergraduate and postgraduate/MSc level is highly desirable.
