The group is based at Allam Diabetes Centre, Hull Royal Infirmary, with both clinical and basic laboratory research facilities on site.   The research interests include multiple domains of diabetes and endocrinology including nutritional and pharmacological interventions in type 2 diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome and obesity.  The group has a high reputation for clinical trials and research is supported by tenured support and technical staff and is managed by a group manager supported by clinical trials coordinators, research nurses, administrators, and secretaries.
