Location: Primarily based in Beijing, China, to participate in Brunel University London (BUL)’s Transnational Education (TNE) provision at North China University of Technology (NCUT). Brunel University London’s Uxbridge campus will be the designated work location for the remaining duration.

Brunel University London was established in 1966 and is a leading multidisciplinary research-intensive technology university delivering economic, social and cultural benefits. For more information please visit: https://www.brunel.ac.uk/about/our-history/home.

The Brunel London School at NCUT is the first Chinese–British TNE School for undergraduate provision in Beijing, China. The School is expanding rapidly with its three TNE programmes - Mathematics for Data Science, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering and currently has about 800 students studying double degrees at NCUT.

We are seeking to appoint a number of Lecturers/Senior Lecturers and the successful candidates are likely to have backgrounds related to either mathematics, mechanical, civil, control, robotics, mechatronic engineering or data science.

The first year of technical education received by the students has a proportion of shared content between Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Thus, we are looking to appoint candidates that can work as part of a teaching team for the shared subject areas as well as deliver in their specialist area. We are also looking to appoint candidates that can contribute to delivery across the three TNE programmes, e.g. candidates appointed on one TNE programme are expected to be able to supervise Final Year Projects on another TNE programme.

As a diverse and forward-thinking employer, we embed the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion into everything we do. That includes not just our core missions of teaching and research, but also our support for staff, students and our local community.

We’re committed to the wellbeing of all our staff and to the sustainability of our environment, on our campus and beyond. We offer a competitive salary package, a generous annual leave allowance, along with opportunities to develop your career in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidates will be typically spending at least 75% of the time at NCUT in Beijing, China and typically 25% at Brunel University London, UK.

Staff teaching as part of the Brunel London School may be eligible for fully-funded accommodation while teaching at NCUT in Beijing.

For informal enquiries, please contact Professor Maozhen Li, Vice Dean, BUL-NCUT School Maozhen.Li@brunel.ac.uk.

Closing date for applications: 3 April 2024 (midnight).

If you have any technical issues please contact us at: hrsystems@brunel.ac.uk.

Brunel University London has a strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. Our aim is to promote and achieve a fully inclusive workforce to reflect our community.
