This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

This new part-time (0.5 FTE) post is available from immediately on a fixed-term basis until the 31st of March 2027.

Summary of the role
We are seeking talented individual to act as Project Coordinator, (initially 0.5 FTE), to provide key stakeholder engagement for an ongoing research collaboration. Working as part of the research team led by Prof. Charles Tyler and Associate Prof. Matt Winter and based in Biosciences, this role will provide direct support to a large industry funded research programme.

Working closely with Prof. Tyler and Associate Prof. Winter, post holder will play a critical role in the day-to-day management of a drug discovery target validation research project with a key industrial partner. The role will involve acting as first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing regular communication with the research team and facilitating the logistical arrangements of the project. The key responsibility will be to maintain the excellent relationship with the existing industry stakeholders, which will include providing the project team and stakeholders with information relating to project delivery, finance and budgets, communications, and to facilitate and minute outcomes from regular meetings with the industrial partner.

The successful applicant will be part of a large vibrant research team in which the researchers and technical support team study a very wide range of projects in biological and environmental science.

Specifically, the post will include the following duties:

  • Act as first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders,
  • Facilitate in the logistical arrangements of the project,
  • Actively support project delivery, finance and budgets, communications,
  • Support in the reporting for project deliverables,
  • Lead in facilitating regular communication with the research team and industry partner,
  • Help to maintain the excellent relationship with the existing industry stakeholders,
  • Support the Exeter project team more widely as required.

About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically. The post-holder will be expected to work flexibly and with initiative in a growing and supportive environment. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully with a broad range of stakeholders and audiences. Excellent numeracy and literary skills, as well as attention to detail and good time management, are essential.

Applicants will be educated to first degree level or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study or equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of the research methods and techniques being used within this established research programme.
