Targeted applications include quantum computing, chip-scale quantum sensing and quantum communications. The appointee will work with material platforms such as: Silicon Nitride, Silicon and the opportunity to explore other disruptive materials.
The appointee will work in Bristol with Prof. Jonathan Matthews and team in QET Labs. This post presents a fantastic opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and interests at the cutting edge of integrated quantum photonics and emerging technologies using discrete and continuous variables quantum optics.
QET Labs is a Research Centre of >100 researchers, staff and students that comprises quantum-related activities spanning research, training and enterprise. Working together, we aim to transform science into real concept demonstrators and entrepreneurial innovation for the commercial success of quantum technologies. As a member of QET Labs, you will conduct research at the interface of quantum technologies, photonics, and experimental science. You will be part of a dynamic team and have the opportunity to interact with all members of QET Labs and the wider Bristol Quantum Information Institute.
What will you be doing?
Your responsibilities will include working with others to formulate project plans, developing new techniques for integrated quantum photonics design and characterisation, and delivery of research outputs.
