Moray House School of Education and Sport is looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Assistants to support the School’s research activities in 6 research thematic hubs: 

  • Advanced Quantitative Research in Education
  • Children and Young People
  • Digital Education
  • Language, Interculturality and Literacies
  • Social Justice and Inclusion
  • Sport-Related Research

There is 0.3FTE assigned to each Thematic Hub, open-ended. There is an opportunity to combine these roles for candidates whose experience and skillset spans across 2 or 3 research thematic hubs. Please indicate in your application which thematic hub(s) you are applying for.

Our thematic hubs, which focus on tackling real-world problems, are an integral part of our research culture and are inclusive of all academic staff and research students. Their work impacts on understanding and decision-making for policy makers, practitioners and the public, positively transforming people’s lives.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • A postgraduate degree in the research area of at least one Thematic Hub.
  • Experience or demonstrable interest in the research area and research methods of at least one Thematic Hub.
  • Ability to compile, analyse and interpret research data.
  • Experience in preparing comprehensive reports of research methods/findings. 
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Digital/IT skills.
