ICE's mission is to enable learning throughout life and to widen access to higher education. We design deliver and curate a portfolio of world leading short courses and award bearing qualifications in a broad range of disciplines.
Continuing education is currently one of the most exciting, prominent, and fastest changing fields in global higher education, ICE is an established leader in the field, tracing its roots back to 1873. ICE is based at the historic Madingley Hall campus, four miles west of Cambridge.
ICE currently enrols around 5000 students each year on short courses and under and postgraduate award-bearing courses. We have ambitious plans to increase student enrolments over the next strategic period.
The Role
We wish to appoint a fixed term, maternity cover for the Head of Academic Centre Administration, working collaboratively with academics and administrators from across ICE and the Collegiate University, to create and maintain a portfolio of student-centred award-bearing courses. This role is a secondment opportunity for internal university candidates as well as the wider public.
On a day to day, you will be leading the Undergraduate award bearing courses' team through the cyclical students' activities, start of term induction, online termly teaching, submission and marking of assignments, examiners meetings. You will be the main port of call for resolving escalated issues providing clear guidance on regulations, processes and procedures. You will be working closely with Academic Directors and teaching staff to monitor progress on courses, quality check courses documentation, support the development of new courses, including academic quality, budget setting and monitoring and providing expert advice on university regulations and compliance matters.
You will be working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including university faculties and departments and central support teams.

ICE is supportive of hybrid working, the current arrangements have staff working 2 days on site in Maddingly Hall and 3 days worked remotely, for those working Monday to Friday and where the role allows.
