About the role

As an Assistant Director of the Student Journey Service, you'll champion student success and continuous improvement. Your crucial role involves supporting the Director, to foster a collaborative culture across teams in your portfolio and the wider service.

Day-to-day, you will support continuous development, aligning University priorities with service objectives, injecting creativity into service development. Designing our library and learner development offer, maintaining service standards, and engaging in strategic space management are just some of the ways that you will showcase your commitment to enhancing the student experience.

Building positive external relationships, championing student voices, and managing the service budget are key aspects. Leading projects and continuous improvement initiatives will drive strategic changes at both service and University levels. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required during busy periods.

Showcase your talents for articulating, evaluating and advocating for high-quality learner development services aligned with evolving student needs.

In leadership, we need a proven track record in a large, complex organisation, showcasing effective people and financial resource management. Lead professional teams, exceed stakeholder expectations, and bring a track record of achieving key objectives. Your interpersonal finesse will be required to influence and negotiate at all levels. Your experience in managing complex projects is the cherry on top!
