So, why do we need you?
You will be:
Leading the Pensions strategy, and associated resources in a highly complex organisation with multiple stakeholders, providing specialist advice and risk management support to the Director of Finance, Chief Finance Officer and Trustee Chairs, delivering high quality service and value for money across the University's multiple pension schemes.
The subject matter expert on pensions, championing innovation and effectiveness in all pensions activities, to provide a positive experience for our employees and pensioners, and supporting The University in being a world-leading employer.
Overseeing the operational functions of the Pensions section, managing and leading a high performing team, attracting, retaining and motivating quality, high performing staff with focus on ongoing staff development and progression.
This is an exceptional opportunity to drive forward an area of critical strategic importance to the University. This position is full time, working on a hybrid basis.
Strong candidates for the role will bring an agile, resilient and collegiate approach with a track record of facilitating and leading change within a complex environment, Higher Education industry experience would be beneficial but is not essential. Familiarity leading broad and high-achieving teams and exceptional problem-solving and organisation skills will be key in this role, alongside experience of working with the most senior management in complex organisation with a diverse range of specialist and generalist stakeholders. Significant experience of managing major, complex pension schemes with significant independencies, risk management and associated projects with organisational-wide impact will be required.
