About us

The new National Institute for Health and Care Research Reproductive Health Policy Research Unit (RHPRU) is a £3 million research investment over 3 years with the core purpose of producing high quality research evidence to inform policy regarding reproductive health in England. The RHPRU is led by UCL but is a multi-partner collaboration involving senior academics from Universities of Oxford, Birmingham, Warwick, LSHTM and Hywel Dda University Health Board.

The RHPRU is hosted at the UCL EGA Institute for Women’s Health, whose mission is to bring together clinicians and researchers from a diverse range of disciplines to deliver excellence and innovation to make a real and sustainable difference to women's and babies’ health locally, nationally and worldwide.

About the role

The postholder will coordinate the set-up of the unit and the implementation of the programme, including managing Unit staffing, budget, and reporting. As a member of both the senior management team for the Unit and the Unit’s Executive team, the post holder will contribute to strategic decision making for the Unit and provide the key point of contact with DHSC and funders.

Salary range is UCL Grade 8 Sp38 (£46,974 + LW) only.

This role is an open-ended contract with a funding end date of 31 December 2026.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.

This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% on site.

About you

We are looking for an individual with the experience and expertise to support the setup of the new unit and manage a team conducting research for government and the wider community. Excellent project management skills are required, as well as an ability to co-ordinate and build effective partnerships and facilitate the smooth running of the unit, including governance and reporting requirements. An interest in reproductive health is desirable.
