About the role:

The Department of Health Professions offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Sport and Exercise Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Food and Nutrition. We also have a vibrant research student community across all disciplines.

All of our courses are designed to combine academic, work-based knowledge with practical experience, and skills to ensure our students are fit for practice, fit for employment and make a valued contribution to the advancement of knowledge in physiotherapy and the wider health and social care agenda. Technology and creativity are at the heart of the student experience in the department, and we are committed to delivering innovative teaching methods to enhance learning.

The successful applicant is expected to contribute to both the curriculum and the enhancement of student experience whilst actively participating in wider departmental activities. They will be required to teach physiotherapy related subjects across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a specific focus on cardiorespiratory physiotherapy and advanced practice.

They will be required to support inter-professional teaching across the faculty and to work closely with a range of academics, researchers, clinicians and other professionals across the wider health and social care sector. Part-time hours can be considered for the successful candidate.

About the candidiate:

The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent oral and written competencies and interpersonal skills. A willingness to contribute across the whole physiotherapy curriculum is essential. They should have considerable knowledge and experience of working in the clinical areas of musculoskeletal rehabilitation, in hospitals, community and/or other settings such as sport medicine.

They will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or relevant international professional body. They should have a good first degree, a minimum of a Masters level qualification, and PhD or equivalent (Senior Lecturer post), They should have relevant teaching and significant clinical experience in physiotherapy. Their experience should include evidence of research, service improvement, service evaluation or clinical audit.
