This post is full time, and funded for up to 24 months.
The James Watt School of Engineering is looking for a Research Technologist to work as part of the multi-university MDMC team (MDMC, https://mdmc.hw.ac.uk/) which offers manufacturing, engineering, regulatory and business development expertise to advance the ideation, design, development, manufacturing and documentation of medical devices in companies with technical activity in Scotland.
The role will include gaining understanding of the needs of companies in Medical Device Manufacturing; advising and assisting them with access to Precision Material Testing and Micro and Meso-scale Manufacturing facilities at the University of Glasgow; estimating required equipment use for work to be done; operating equipment to complete the tasks at hand; and working seamlessly in a team with Technical Specialists and other staff at the partner universities, under the leadership of Heriot Watt University.
