And now we have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) (Business Management)!

The University of Sunderland in London (UoSiL), based at Canary Wharf, boasts a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students. We consider ourselves as an innovative satellite campus and constantly evolving and have exciting plans for 2024 and beyond! We have just launched a pilot for a four-day working week and later this year we will be moving to a new, modern campus building adjacent to our current location offering a bright and spacious learning and working environment.

The Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) team sits within the Academic Development Centre and is formed of professionals with academic subject specialism relevant to the programme followed by the students they are supporting, and with experience of Higher Education curriculum (teaching/assessing/supporting students at UG and/or PG level).  

The PAT role at UoSiL focuses on developing students' academic performance and confidence by providing personalised subject specific support and targeted interventions in one-to-one or small group settings.  The life as PAT is dynamic and exciting, with plenty opportunities for professional development.

To excel in this role, you should have a degree or equivalent professional qualification in Business Management. You will need to have experience working in Higher Education (HE) in a role where you provided academic assessment feedback. In addition, you will have a solid understanding of the academic curriculum and teaching and learning approaches in HE. We are looking for someone with outstanding interpersonal skills who can collaborate with academic and professional staff and who is committed to providing an excellent experience to all students.
