Are you interested in furthering your career at the leading edge of low carbon manufacturing?  We have an exciting opportunity for a senior project engineer with experience of renewable energy systems, low carbon technologies, mechanical or electronics engineering to join the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) Northwest in Lancashire as we continue to grow our Low Carbon team, based in our new purpose build £25mil facility in Samlesbury, Preston in Lancashire.

With low carbon manufacturing a key priority for AMRC and the High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC)

Is the potential for this role to grow and the variety of work is unlimited.   You will work with a range of manufacturers from innovative SMEs to global manufacturers delivering projects across fully funded demonstrations, research grants and large-scale commercial work, where you will get to see real world impact.

Your work will encompass all aspects of working with manufacturers to identify and deliver projects aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, quality and sustainability with a focus on renewable energy and low carbon technology development.  You will be required to visit manufacturing sites across the region, a pool car will be available.

For this role, you will:

  • Qualified engineer with a strong knowledge of renewable energy systems and low carbon technologies.
  • Have gained significant experience working in or with manufacturing businesses with a focus on developing, implementing and managing technology to drive sustainability measures.
  • Have a demonstrable track record of scoping and successfully delivering projects to tight deadlines.
  • Have excellent communication skills, a customer centric approach and enjoy working with a range of people across multiple departments, businesses and project teams to deliver impactful results.
  • Enjoy researching new approaches and have a passion for sustainability and a thirst for knowledge of new and emerging technologies and decarbonisation processes.
