A bit about our School of Health & Society…

With over 8,000 students we are the largest School at the University, with colleagues and students from all over the world. We are a forward-thinking, dynamic school with a commitment to lifelong learning and real-world impact.

We are the largest provider of nursing and midwifery bachelor’s degrees and second largest provider of allied and public health programmes in the north-west.  Through our interdisciplinary research network and three research centres, we focus on improving health, social and individual outcomes.

Our award-winning facilities give students real-world experience and we have plans to further develop our estate to build on this success.

We are part of the global healthcare community and collaboration is at the heart of what we do, working with a wide range of industry partners locally, regionally and globally.

By joining us, you will become part of a wide network of professionals, sharing knowledge and expertise. Like us, you will be passionate and committed and will be part of our ambitious journey, to shape the health professionals, community and social leaders of the future.

Simulated Practice Learning is an integral and compulsory element of the Nursing programme delivered within the School and the Placements Assistant will work within a small team responsible for ensuring that all administrative processes underpinning this element of the programme is effectively implemented and managed. In addition there will be a responsibility for ensuring that appropriate and effective electronic systems are available to students, staff and partner colleagues whilst off campus.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to working collaboratively with internal and external colleagues to provide outstanding customer service, together with the ability to administer complex systems and procedures, and work effectively under pressure.
